Hello, my name is Chris and I am from San Diego, CA.
I am a musician that has been in and out of the business for half my life (15 years), from being onstage myself to working for others - Jerry Cantrell, Dave Mustaine, Ours, Chris Poland and others...My 'specialty' is 80's BOSS pedals (both acquiring them and repairing them for others) and pedalboard setups. I am not familiar with midi equipment yet, but hopefully I can learn a lot from this site about the ADA gear ive picked up. My new setup is an MP-1 w/ a Quadraverb+ and a Mosvalve 500 running through Peavey Valveking 4x12s or Rectifier 4x12s. I am trying to use the MXC pedal pak on this, but can't seem to get the Quadraverb to ignore the MXC unit changes and listen to the quadswitch and CCP only. I know this is not the place for my problem, but it is the reason I even found out about this place.

Hi Chris, and welcome in here thumbsup
Nice gear - Illegal lawsuit version sounds.. mmnn.. interesting.. Wink

Have a look in our FAQ/TechGuides section for various MIDI info.
I'm not personally familiar with the MCX/CCP setup, but others in here are.
I suggest you open a topic on this in the "Other ADA" or "Technical.." sections.

Hiya Chris,

First of all, a hearty WELCOME is in order, so there you have it. Well, you certainly stumbled onto some good gear there (ADA stuff of course). Do you play any of those guitars? Ha ha

I have the MXC/CCP and use a Quadraverb, but I don't quite understand what you're describing - what the QuadV is doin with the CCP commands...start a thread (as van Sinn suggested) in the tech section & we'll talk more. Don't wanna get too far off topic here (as I am wont to do)

FYI: There's talk I may be in San Diego next year or later this year. My old singer is down there now and we're gonna get together with the rest of our old band. Even more talk of maybe playing a gig while we're down there - all talk right now, but it would be cool to hook up with the SoCal ADAniacs.

Hi Chris,

Boss pedals? Eww, not that mosquito buzz!Hopefully the MP-1 will help you find another specialty.

About MIDI.  If you have multiple controlles and multiple units, and don't want the wrong unit to listen to the wrong controller, the simplest thing is not to connect them together at all via MIDI. Just have separate MIDI daisy chains. Just because everything can be connected together doesn't mean it has to be.

If you need to connect them together, then how you can keep the messages separate is by using different MIDI channels. Make sure your controllers send messages on different MIDI channels, and program your units to respond to the correct channels.

A unit can still respond to all channels, if it is receiving in "omni mode", and this is often the default setting (probably so that newbies don't scratch their heads why their out-of-the-box units are not talking to each other.)

Yes I play them all. They are all different tunings : B, C, C#, Eb, Drop D, E.
Of all my Boss pedals, Kaz, The only distortion is a Metalizer and a Keeley DS-1. Distortion belongs in an amp, Drive and Boost on the boards.
The 'lawsuit' Cantrell is quite interesting. A deal with Jerry and G&L was in the works when the band split, leaving the deal in the dirt.
Unbeknownst to Mr. C, G&L released the 70 guitars that were finished anyway - labelled as a Cantrell Spec. Ed. Model - complete with a signed COA from the production manager. I just happened across mine for sale one day without even knowing they existed.
Anyway, I had met Jerry when I was 15 and started doing tour duties when I was 18 and he's always signed guitars for me since he knew it was for my own collection and not to sell. During the Cardboard Vampyres show played here in San Diego in early 2000's, I brought my Rampage to compare mine to his without letting him know ahead of time. Jerry couldnt believe how exact they were, even down to the no longer made Kahler tremolo model! Needless to say he was pretty pissed but he was glad I brought it to his attention. I gave him my COA and he took pictures for proof so he could go about recooping the money he never saw the first time. He signed the Rampage but put it in its case and told me not to look til I got home cuz it was a surprise. When I got home - I saw he signed it -Jerry Cantrell AIC- his way of telling me that they were getting back together! Now the guitar is back in production - Jerry's way.
