Hello Everyone,
Sorry it took so long for me to notice this section of the message board, I have limited time to spent online these days because I'm on a self-funded tour across the US.
My name is Harley, and I am a working musician who has been using ADA gear consistently since 1983. I own at least two of every ADA preamp ever made. many poweramps, and quite a few of the delay effects also. My 1st ADA rack piece was an early model S1000 that did not have the triangular power LED under the ADA logo. I bought that new in 1983, and had a peculiar problem with it. I sent it to ADA twice to have it checked out, which is how I met and got to know Todd Langner, since he was the head of the service department at the time. Todd and I had spoken many times after that, when I would find myself with techincal questions that needed answering about many of the ADA components I continued to aquire through the years. Todd was also kind enough to introduce me to a superb technician who built a custom rack mounted wah pedal and interfaced the problematic S1000 with it ! Both still operate wonderfully.
I do have a lot of experience with ADA gear and would be happy to share any information that I have with anyone.
    Looking forward to it, Harley

Hello Jur, Chester, And Everyone else,

Thank you for the welcome, I wish I had known about this site years ago. since ADA went down in 1997, I had'nt thought much about looking anywhere online for ADA support, but it's certainly refreshing to find out I'm not the only one who is an avid ADA user. Where I live, near Cleveland, none of the other musicians I know would even consider using anything ADA. They are such a group of trendies, or followers if you will, never deciding to walk their own path. I can't be that way, I could never discard something that does the job for me the way I want it to, in favor of what may be the "Flavor of the Month."
My rig I use for the larger halls and auditoriums consists of one of my MP1 Classics which feeds (in stereo) a custom built rack mounted Wah pedal which has controlable panning, and flanging, which comes from a S1000 that was modified to interface with the foot controller for manual sweep of the flanging. That unit has been named the Intelligent Wah-Panner. From there, the stereo outputs feed an Eventide H3000, four more S1000's, a Digitizer4, 128i Lexicon LXP15II,MPX1 and a JamMan. The signal then goes to a Rane SM26 which splits the signal lines out to four silverface Fender Twin Reverbs. For footswitch control, I use a Digital Music Ground Control with 2 Ernie Ball volume pedals for continuous control, and connected to two GCX units in the bottom of the rack. There is also one vintage and one reissue ADA flanger pedals on the pedalboard and an old MXR Phase90.  It sounds pretty good but, I believe it can sound better. When I get home, I'll be pulling everything ADA out of this rack and into a new rack, which will be totally ADA amplification, and signal processing. That way, I can get a better mix between Dry and Wet signals with better separation. I can't wait to get it in the studio and try it out.
As for this tour, I think I'll be lucky if I break even. Chalk this up to a lesson learned. I'll let someone else fund the next tour. Take tonight for example. Tuesday night is not such a hot night for a show. We played to a half empty bar, and of course I have to accept a partial payment, but everone else still has to get paid. Oh well LOL
Anyway, it's late here, and I'm wiped out Boys and Girls, so I'm going to sign off for the night. I'll check back in when I can.

    Keep Rockin', Harley

Pleasant?  Geez, I only made it half way through the first paragraph before I shot a load!

Dude, you need to show off that gear set up.

I love hearing from guys that know what they love in gear and remain dedicated to their passion.  Sadly, I have not got as much experience as I would like but I am fortunate enough to have found ADA again and made some great friends here at the Depot.  Sufficed to say, I am supremely pleased with my current rig and have yet to play through one that sounds as good or reacts with the guitar as well as mine does.

Cool read man!

Hi Jur,    No, I have'nt seen one of those. I would imagine they are probaby few and far between since they were introduced just a few months before ADA went down. In  any event, I'm really addicted to the tone I get from the Microtubes. I can only think of one word to describe the tone....ORGASMIC!

Hi Gang,
       Greetings from El Paso, Texas!
I've got a little time to kill while the roadies are packing the truck fron last nights gig.  It seems that they decided to take one of the trips over the border into Mexico last night and got into a bit too much of the Mescale. They're roughing it this morning LOL. I just hope we don't have to stop at a doctors office for penicillin shots due to some stray chiquitas they might have met in Juarez, Sheesh!
Speaking of which, " SHot a load halfway through the first paragraph?!?  Good Golly Day! He's telling the truth! He does need professional help! As soon as I can, I'll take a picture of the rack as it is now and post it but, it's not going to stay that way. I've been buying up a lot of ADA gear on Ebay and having it shipped home so that when I get back, I can get to work on the new rack. This will be much simpler to program and operate than my current rig, and with matched speakers, I believe I'll be able to get the best sound possible. I used to dream about having a massive ADA rack like this one back in the 80's. Now, it's time to stop dreamin' and start driving! THe trickiest thing about this rack is going to be the footswitch controller for all the non-midi gear. I'll have my tech build it for me with a few added tricks to it such as, independant mute switches for each channel, and a switch that I'll call a manic button. That one will kick on every effect at once for pure sonic pandemonium!
Anyway, I think we should be almost ready to go, next stop; Phoenix, Az. I'll check back in when I can Gang, in the meantime, keep smiling! (at both ends).
   Later Easy,    Harley

Thanks GibsonRRich,

When I get home, I'll takes pics of my current rig as it is, but don't get used to it. After the pics, I'm going to dismantle it and build up two separate racks. One will be totally ADA, the other will have the high end gear with ADA preamp, and poweramps, and maybe another microcab. I'm putting away my old Fender amps

Sheesh! All the edits I did to these pics, and half did'nt save. At least this edit did. New Camera, and not my Home PC, someone else's and I don't have the editing tools I'm used to. But there's one pic of the rig as it's been for the past 5 years

Ok, Let's give this one more go and see if i got it right this time...

This is the rig I've been using over the past 5 years, and what is not pictured in this shot is the Leslie Model 760, and the Fender 400PS, with two vintage Fender Cabs. Since those did'nt always get used with this rig, I did'nt feel compelled to post them.
Don't get attached to this rig as it is, since all the ADA gear in here is going to find it's way into it's own rack along with all the other ADA gear I've been buying on Ebay.
I'll try to post a pic of the rack itself on the rig pics page and list everything in it.
    In the meantime, Enjoy,

                                 Harley 8-)
